We interviewed numerous homeowners (target users) to gather an understanding of their habits and usage of heating in their homes. Below are our findings:

- some people leave their heating on for long periods of time, sometimes 24hrs a day

​

- homeowners do recognize their usage, mostly due to high power/gas bills, but admit that it is too high

​

- many people make an effort to reduce heat loss, by closing windows, curtains and using blinds

 

- a large majority of people have insulated homes
